BCCI got a 440 volt shock.
New Delhi. BCCI from Bombay High Court has suffered a major setback in the Kochi Tuskers Kerala case case. The High Court rejected the petitions of the Indian Cricket Board challenging the decision of more than 538 crores in favor of Kochi Tuskers Kerala. In the order passed on Tuesday, Justice R Chagla said that there is no ‘clear illegal’ in the intermediary’s decision. Which requires court intervention. The court has asked the BCCI to pay this amount.
The Kochi Tuskers Kerala franchise was given to the Group led by the Rondivu Sports World (RSW) and was later operated by the Kochi Cricket Private Limited (KCPL). The team participated in the IPL in 2011 but the next year the BCCI ended their contract. The dispute is around the BCCI’s termination of the agreement on the basis that KCPL and RSW allegedly failed to present the required bank guarantee.
