CRPF jawan strangled wife on suspicion of infidelity, news channel reached to tell the story, police arrested

A surprising case has come to light in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, where a man cut his wife’s throat on suspicion of infidelity. The person who murdered his wife is a constable in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who carried out the incident on Saturday (August 2, 2025) in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu. However, after cutting the wife’s strangulation, the accused CRPF jawan went to a news channel and told the whole story of this murder, after which the police arrested him.

In this case, the killer is named Tamil Selvan, who is a resident of Thalavipuram village near Erl in Tuticorin district. Which was arrested by the Tenampet police after leaving the TV channel near Nungambakkam High Road. However, for further investigation into the case, the Tenampet police handed over the accused Tamil Selvan to Tuticorin District Police.

Police gave information in the case

Police said about the case, “Tamil Selvan had killed his 32 -year -old wife Uma Maheshwari on Thursday (July 31, 2025) on suspicion of infidelity of his 32 -year -old wife Uma Maheshwari in his house. After this, he cut his head and separated his body. Then he ran away from there by reaching his nine -year -old son and seven -year -old daughter.”

The police further said, “After a few days, Tamil Selvan contacted the office of a TV channel and expressed his desire to explain his crime. Surprised by this request of the accused, the staff of the channel contacted Tenampet’s Assistant Police Commissioner Arokia Ravindran. After receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot and caught the accused.”

Tuticorin SP Albert John told the Times of India that our team has reached Chennai. We will get a transit warrant from the magistrate court. Police said that the accused husband had been doubting his wife for a long time, that is why he had also installed CCTV cameras to monitor inside and outside his house.
