New Delhi. MS Dhoni can once again captain Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Dhoni can be seen against Delhi Capitals on Saturday in this familiar responsibility. Dhoni’s possibility of landing as a captain is due to Rituraj Gaikwad’s injury. CSK regular captain Rituraj was hurt in the last match against Rajasthan Royals. CSK and Delhi will be played at Chepock Stadium from 3.30 pm.
A day before the match with Delhi Capitals, Mike Hussey, batting coach of Chennai Super Kings, spoke to the press. He said on Friday, ‘We are hoping that he (Rituraj) will practice batting in the nets today. It is also true that they are still having a little pain. His injury is improving every day. So it is hoping that they will be cured by Saturday.
Rituraj Gaikwad had a ball from Tushar Deshpande in the match played on 30 March. The ball rising above was on Rituraj’s elbow, which caused them to splash with pain. However, he continued batting after treatment on the field, but his playing in the match against Delhi Capitals remains suspicious.
If Rituraj Gaikwad is not fit, Chennai Super Kings do not have much option for captaincy. With this, he may have to move to MS Dhoni. When Hussey was asked that if the Gaikwad is not fit then who will captain, he said, ‘I cannot say anything with confidence. We have not thought much about it.
