The Dalai Lama said in his message, “Dalgyal is not a sadhana, but an illusion, which deviates the Buddhists with the original purpose. This practice not only causes mental disturbance, but also weakens the foundation of Buddhism and the foundation of non -violence.” He further clarified that this superstition -based tradition is no longer personal, but has become a threat to the unity of the entire community.
He also gave a message to the attendees that true Buddhist practice is the one who promotes compassion, co-existence and self-development. He especially urged the youth not to come under the influence of the so-called miraculous or fears based on prayers.
