A major accident took place during the procession of Muharram in Kakodha village in Taradih block of the district. The flag being taken during the procession suddenly came in contact with the electric wire of 11 thousand volts passing above, causing the current and a young man died on the spot, while more than a dozen people were burnt.
After the accident, there was chaos in the procession. The injured people were admitted to the hospital for immediate treatment. The incident has been confirmed by Darbhanga District Magistrate Kaushal Kumar. He informed that all the injured are being treated and orders have been given to investigate the incident.

Why the power supply was not stopped during a sensitive event like Muharram, it is being investigated. The District Magistrate said that accountability will also be fixed regarding the negligence of the electricity department.

Eyewitnesses said that the procession of Muharram was being taken out, and there was a huge crowd on the spot. Meanwhile, a bamboo end in the procession touched by the electric wire passing above. At that time, a sharp current was running in the wire.
As soon as the bamboo hit the wire, the spark started coming out and the electric wire broke and fell directly on the crowd. Meanwhile, a fire broke out in a nearby transformer, which caused a stir. More than a dozen people were injured after being hit by the current.
As soon as the wire fell, there was chaos in the people. People started running around to save their lives. Many injured fell on the ground and there was a scream all around. The people present on the spot started immediately to take the injured to the hospital.
