Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was attacked by a man during a public hearing at the camp office on Rajnivas Marg on Wednesday morning. The accused was identified as 41 -year -old Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakaria, a resident of Rajkot. The Chief Minister has suffered a head injury in the attack. After the incident, Delhi Police arrested the accused and his mother has appealed to the CM to forgive him by calling him an animal lover and mentally unwell. Delhi Police is investigating the case and criminal records of the accused are being investigated. It is being investigated that this attack is not a conspiracy.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta regularly performs public hearing, in which the complainants reach them with their complaint. After the entry checking at 7 am, the complainants are allowed to come in and the CM starts hearing from 8 pm. Meanwhile, accused Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakaria reached the Chief Minister and attacked him. The police immediately caught the accused and took him to the Civil Lines police station. Delhi Police will present it in court today, where his remand can be demanded.

Initially, information came out that a family of the accused is in jail. He reached CM Rekha Gupta with the complaint to get him released. Delhi Police approached the Rajkot police during interrogation of the accused. A team of local police reached the house of the accused in Rajkot, where his mother Bhanu Ben lives. After questioning the mother, it was found that she was an animal lover and came to Delhi after recent controversies over dogs on the pretext of going to Ujjain.

The attacker had also done Reiki of the Chief Minister’s camp and a video has also surfaced with this claim. The accused was seen coming in a rickshaw to the Chief Minister’s camp office. According to sources, he had entered inside as a complainant. According to the initial claim, he had brought a petition for the release of one of his relatives from jail. When Rekha Gupta reached her, Sakaria gave her some papers and then suddenly shouted at her. It is being claimed that he first slapped the Chief Minister and then pushed it.

Rekha Gupta’s balance deteriorated due to the shock but she survived falling due to the wall behind. The next moment the attacker caught his hair. Then the security personnel immediately intervened and first attacked his hand and rescued the CM’s hair. The accused already has a criminal record. Police officers present on the spot controlled him and took him to the Civil Lines police station. On the other hand, the Chief Minister was taken to the hospital for medical examination.

According to Delhi Police sources, now it is being investigated whether the accused has reached the CM residence during public hearing earlier. It is also being ascertained whether he had already planned to attack the Chief Minister. Delhi Police is interrogating the accused and complete information has been given to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

What did the mother of the accused say?

After the attack on CM, Bhanu Ben, mother of the accused, says that his son is mentally unwell and does not take any medicine. He has folded his hands and apologized to the Chief Minister for his son. He said that his son loves dogs and animals very much and he made this mistake in the same love. Bhanu Ben told that the son is a devotee of Mahadev and came out of the house saying that he was going to Ujjain. Later he said on the phone that he had come to Delhi for dogs.

The mother also said that the son’s nature is already angry, he drives a rickshaw, his wife and son. He says that the CM should forgive him because of being from a poor family. Bhanu Ben further told that after watching a video related to dogs in Delhi, his son did not even eat food and started beating hands and feet on the bed. The mother told that then she said that the dogs are being treated badly and he wants to feed them. He says that the son wanted to build an animal hospital and this passion brought him to Delhi.

BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva’s statement

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva initially told that the Chief Minister was sitting among the public during the public hearing. A man came to him, gave some papers and suddenly grabbed his hand and pulled, which pushed and the head of the CM got hit on one corner of the table. Giving initial information, he had said that CM has not been attacked with stone or slap. He said that the Chief Minister’s condition is stable and doctors have checked him. Sachdeva said that CM is a strong woman and her commitment towards Delhi will continue and public hearing will continue as before.

After the attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, BJP leader and minister in the Delhi government Kapil Mishra made serious allegations. He said that it is not an ordinary attack but a hate -filled attack. The accused first did Reiki, made a video and then attacked under the plan. Kapil Mishra said that the accused cannot be alone, there can be more people behind it. This attack has been done with the intention of killing the Chief Minister and the Delhi Police is investigating it deeply.

Arvind Kejriwal condemns the attack on Rekha Gupta

Former Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has condemned the attack on CM. He said, “The attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is extremely condemnable. Differences and opposition to ideas in the democratic system is acceptable, but there can be no place for violence. I am confident that Delhi Police will take appropriate action. Hope the Chief Minister is completely safe and healthy.”

Delhi Congress chief Devendra Yadav also expressed grief over the attack on CM Rekha Gupta and said that this is very unfortunate.
