America has eliminated another big terrorist. The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has become a major pile in Iraq. US President Donald Trump on Saturday announced the success of the entire operation. Trump said that another terrorist has also been killed along with Abdulla Maki Musleh al-Rifi alias Abu Khadija. The US has completed this military aerial operation with Iraqi and Kurdish forces.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani confirmed the operation. He said, the slain ISIS leader has been identified as Abdullah Maki Musleh Al-Rifi, also known as Abu Khadija. In a statement on X, Al-Sudani praised the Iraqi security forces and the US-led military operations.
Abu Khadija told the most dangerous terrorist
Prime Minister Sudani described Abu Khadija as one of the most dangerous terrorists in Iraq and the world. He said that Abu Khadija’s end is another important victory in Iraq’s fight against terrorism.
Trump shared this news on his social media platform Truth and said, ISIS’s fugitive leader was killed in Iraq today. Our courageous soldiers chased him continuously.
Soon after Trump’s post, the White House shared a video, showing the visuals of the operation that ended Abu Khadija. Trump said, “Iraqi government and Kurdish regional government underwent operation and another member of ISIS along with Abu Khadija’s life was terminated.” Peace through strength.
Abu Khadija was a highly placed operative of ISIS which was known for its fatal impact within the organization. He was considered a potential contender for the post of Global leader of ISIS or Khalifa due to its major role in the organization’s command structure.
Ended through air strike
A security officer told the news agency Associated Press that the operation was carried out through an airstrikes in the western Anbar province of Iraq. The second officer confirmed that the attack took place on Thursday night. The entire operation was announced on Friday when Syrian Foreign Minister Asad al-Shayabani arrived on a visit to Iraq. Both countries are cooperating in the fight against the Islamic State.
Syrian Interim Foreign Minister Assad has expressed his desire to increase cooperation in fighting the remaining ISIS people. During a joint press conference with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussain, Al-Shayabani said, security is a common responsibility. We are ready to cooperate with Iraq in the fight against Daish. Terrorism does not know any border.
Al-Shayabani also highlighted the importance of reopening the Iraq-Syrian border to promote trade and strengthen bilateral relations. The border was closed in December due to security concerns after the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad ousted from power. The Bashar government had maintained close relations with Baghdad.
