In the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, this time the Mehrauli assembly seat of South Delhi was seen in a tough contest. In this seat, Gajendra Yadav of BJP got a tough fight with Mahendra Chaudhary of AAP. Finally, BJP candidate Gajendra Yadav defeated the AAP candidate by 1782 votes.

Gajendra Yadav joined BJP after cutting a ticket from AAP in Delhi assembly elections. The BJP fielded him as its candidate from Mehrauli seat. Gajendra Yadav also met the party’s expectations and gave a big blow to the Aam Aadmi Party who won the ticket by winning the Mehrauli seat.

Talking to the media after her victory from Mehrauli, Gajendra Yadav said, “This time the public wanted change, and they did it.” He further said, “The public approved the works of PM Modi and made a small worker like me an MLA.”

After the delimitation of 2008, Mehrauli assembly seat came into existence. Mehrauli is very rich historic and culturally. Qutub Minar is located in Mehrauli assembly constituency, which people from all over the world come to see.

What Gajendra Yadav said on AAP’s defeat
Talking to a news channel, BJP leader Gajendra Yadav said, “Today is the day of victory, I will talk about victory. We have won this victory with the hard work of BJP workers.”

After about 27 years in Delhi, BJP has won an absolute majority. In the 2015 and 2020 Delhi assembly elections, BJP worked hard to defeat the Aam Aadmi Party. Despite this, the BJP lost badly in both the assembly elections. In 2020, the Bharatiya Janata Party was able to win only 8 seats, while in 2025, BJP won 6 times more seats.
