The newly elected CM Rekha Gupta of Delhi performed Yamuna Aarti at Vasudev Ghat on the banks of river Yamuna. Cleaning of Yamuna river is included in the priority of the BJP and through this Aarti, the new CM made it clear that the BJP government is fully committed to clean the Yamuna in Delhi.

The tradition of Yamuna Aarti was started here after renovating the Vasudev Ghat under the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena inaugurated this historic Yamuna Aarti on 12 March 2024. Since then, this aarti has been going on regularly and it has been more than 11 months.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) worked to groom Vasudev Ghat. Its purpose was to maintain the cleanliness of the Yamuna shore and promote religious and cultural activities. After cleaning and beautification of the ghat, Yamuna Aarti was organized here regularly.
Like Ganga Aarti, Yamuna Aarti is also considered very important from religious and cultural terms. This event is not only providing spiritual experience to the devotees, but it is also helping to raise awareness about the sanctity and cleanliness of the Yamuna river.
The number of devotees is increasing continuously
The number of devotees has been steadily increasing since the beginning of Yamuna Aarti. People from Delhi and surrounding areas reach here and join Aarti. Apart from local residents, various religious organizations and environmental lovers have also appreciated this initiative.
