Judicial Custody of Tahawwur Rana: A Delhi court on Friday (June 6, 2025) has extended the judicial custody of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, accused of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, till July 9 of next month.
Special Judge Chandrajit Singh of the court passed the order when Tahwwur Rana was produced in the court through a video conference after the end of the period of judicial custody.
Tehvwur Rana’s lawyer cites health, court sought health report from jail administration
At the same time, the lawyer of Tawwur Rana, accused of the terrorist attack, had expressed concern about his health, on which the court has sought a report from Tihar Jail Administration till Monday (June 9, 2025) about his health status.
Rana brought India after the petition was rejected in US court
It is noteworthy that Tahwwur Rana is a close aide of David Coleman Headley alias Dawood Gilani, the main conspirator of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. The United States’s Supreme Court had rejected a review petition filed against India’s extradition on 4 April on April 4, after the US Supreme Court rejected the petition from the US Supreme Court, the 26/11 Tawwur Rana, accused of the Mumbai terror attack, was brought to India.
After extradition in India, the National Investigation Agency took the custody of Tahwwur Rana and started questioning him. Last month, the court sent Rana to judicial custody. Which has now been extended by the court till 9 July.
