The BJP has won a majority in the Delhi assembly elections. The BJP returned to power after 26 years by winning 48 out of 70 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lost 40 seats and was reduced to 22 seats.
This time BJP contested 68 seats, won 48 seats. That is, his 40 seats increased with a 71% strike rate. At the same time, the AAP strike rate was 31% and lost 40 seats.
BJP+ got 3.6% more votes than AAP, while it got 26 seats more than AAP. Here the Congress did not get a single seat in the third consecutive assembly elections in Delhi.
BJP’s vote share rose by more than 9% against the last election (2020). AAP lost about 10%. The Congress may not get a single seat, but the vote share managed to increase 2%.
The BJP won 49 seats i.e. two -thirds majority in the 1993 Delhi assembly elections. In the 5 -year government, Madan Lal Khurana, Sahib Singh Verma and Sushma Swaraj became the ministers. After 1998, the Congress ruled 15 years. After this, there was a government of Aam Aadmi Party here since 2013.
