Delhi pollution: The country’s capital Delhi has been declared the second most polluted city in India in January for the fourth consecutive month. This information has been given in the report released by the Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air (Crea). According to the report of news agency PTI, in January 2025, Delhi’s average PM 2.5 level was recorded at 165 micrograms per cubic meter. It is more than 60 micrograms per cubic meter limit of National Air Quality Standards (NAAQs) fixed in India.
Improvement in Delhi’s Air Vidyutism
The sky remained clean in Delhi on Friday (7 February 2025) and the minimum temperature was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius, which improved the air orchard. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s average air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 156 till 4 pm. The maximum temperature was recorded at 23.3 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the humidity level of the day was between 33 and 60 percent.

According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will be clean in Delhi on Saturday and there is a possibility of wind from the north-west direction in the morning, whose speed will be less than 10 km/h. According to IMD, there is a possibility of fog in Delhi in the morning and in the afternoon the wind speed will gradually increase to 14 to 16 km/h from the northwest direction.
The analysis of the Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) showed that in January, 105 out of 240 cities, the PM 2.5 has crossed the 60 micrograms per cubic meter of national air quality standard in 105 cities. When the weather will be a little more hot in the coming weeks, air quality is expected to decline again in Delhi. Grape stage-3 sanctions were lifted in the capital on 3 February due to better AQI.
