Delhi new cm rekha gupta: The next Chief Minister of Delhi will be Rekha Gupta. On Thursday, she will take oath of Chief Minister at Ramlila Maidan. After 27 years, a BJP candidate has become the CM of the national capital. After the Legislature Party meeting on Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chose Rekha Gupta as the next Chief Minister of Delhi.
Rekha Gupta won the assembly elections for the first time from Shalimar Bagh seat in 2025. He has defeated Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Vandana Kumari by a big margin of 29,595 votes on this seat. He is currently the general secretary of Delhi BJP and the National Vice President of BJP’s Mahima Morcha.
Rekha Gupta is a resident of Jind, Haryana
Rekha Gupta was born in 1974 in Nandgarh village in Jind district of Haryana. His father was an officer in State Bank of India. In the year 1976, Rekha’s father Jai Bhagwan’s job was engaged in Delhi, so his entire family shifted to Delhi. Rekha Gupta’s studies from schooling to graduation have been done in Delhi itself. In 1998, he was married to Manish Gupta, who does the business of spare parts.

Active in RSS since childhood, then DUSU became president
Rekha Gupta has been an active member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since childhood. He stepped into student politics through the student branch of the Sangh, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). In 1994-95, she was elected Secretary of Daulat Ram College. Subsequently, in 1995-96, Delhi University became Secretary of Students Union (DUSU). Rekha Gupta started his journey in politics as President of Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) from 1996 to 1997.
Political journey
Later he stepped into the politics of the municipal corporation and won the election of Delhi Councilor from North Pitampura (Ward 54) in 2007. Rekha Gupta was Secretary in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha, Delhi from 2003-2004. During 2004-2006, he held the post of National Secretary of Yuva Morcha. In April 2007, she was elected councilor on a BJP ticket from North Pitampura ward. After becoming a councilor in the Municipal Corporation, she was given the responsibility of the chairman of the Women’s Welfare and Child Development Committee by 2007-2009. In March 2010, he was made a member of the BJP’s National Executive. Currently, she is the national vice president of the BJP Mahila Morcha. Apart from this, she has also been a councilor from Shalimar Bagh ward.
