DDA announced housing scheme
A day earlier, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had announced housing schemes for the poor. This announcement has been made just before the Delhi Assembly elections. On one hand, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is trying to woo the poor class through various schemes in Delhi, while on the other hand, the BJP led central government is also taking such schemes forward.
Meeting held under the chairmanship of LG
Lieutenant Governor V.K. In the DDA meeting held on Monday under the chairmanship of Saxena, several decisions were taken towards meeting the housing needs of the residents of Delhi, especially the economically weaker sections and the poorest of the poor. The authority has approved the launch of three housing schemes.
These include 25 percent relaxation for construction workers and other deprived sections in Narela, Siraspur and Loknayakpuram. These disadvantaged sections include auto-rickshaw drivers, cab drivers, women, SC/ST categories, war widows, disabled, ex-servicemen and medal recipients.
Special Housing Scheme 2025 approved
Additionally, DDA approved the Special Housing Scheme 2025, which will provide 110 flats in prestigious locations like Vasant Kunj, Dwarka and Rohini. Under this, there is also a scheme of special 25 percent discount for construction workers.
This scheme is especially for those laborers who are registered with Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. About 700 EWS flats in Narela will be provided under this relaxation scheme.
