This year, many changes have been made in the admission of children of financially weak (EWS), deprived groups and disabled class in private schools in Delhi. Admission to KG, Nursery and first grade has started today i.e. 5 March 2025. These admissions will be done with the help of computerized draw. This time many changes have been made in the admission process for EWS category. The income limit for the EWS category has been kept ₹ 5 lakhs annually. The entire process will be through computerized draw in which there will be no human interference. In total, 2.5 lakh applications have come.
Apart from this, a standard operating procedure i.e. SOP has also been kept for admission, as well as the certificate will be examined with the help of its zonal office instead of schools. Due to these changes, no school will be able to refuse any student to admit EWS category. For the first time, the entire process will also be shown on the big TV screen just outside the Directorate of Education.
38 thousand students will be admitted
Computerized draw for admission will be in the presence of Education Minister Ashish Sood in the Directorate of Education of Delhi Assembly, as well as the computerized draw will be seen by media and parents through many screens. Regarding this year’s EVS admission, the Education Minister claims that whatever is 2.5 lakh applicants, out of which 38,000 children will be selected. All the parents can come and see this whole process on the big screen. The purpose of this is that the entire process should be kept transparent. The Delhi government order is that if school refuses admission, then action will be taken on them.
Delhi government released circular
The Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi issued a circular for admission of EWS children. Warnings were given to take action on schools that do not accept the new circular. The Directorate of Education has warned that some individuals, organizations or organizations can claim that they can help in this admission process. Such claims are completely misleading.
Nursery Admission 2025-26: Age Limit
- For admission to Delhi Pre-School, Pre-Primary (KG) and class-1, the minimum age should be three years, four years and five years respectively.
- Pre -Primary – KG: The year in which admission has been sought, less than 5 years on 31 March.
- Class 1: The year in which admission has been sought, less than 6 years on 31 March.
Explain that as per the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, all private non -affected, recognized schools (except minority schools) are bound to provide at least 25% free and compulsory preliminary education to children related to economically weaker sections, disadvantaged groups and CWSN in the neighborhood.
