Delhi Assembly Election Voting 2025 Live Updates: The capital is ready for Delhi assembly elections today. Voting will start in all 70 seats in Delhi from seven in the morning while it will continue till evening. During this time, 1.56 crore voters of Delhi will exercise their franchise and decide the fate of about 700 candidates. The result will be announced on 8 February.
While the Aam Aadmi Party is engaged in the fight to gain power for the third time, the BJP-Congress is also in the struggle to grab the throne of Delhi. The BJP has been out of power for more than 25 years. At the same time, the Congress remained in power for 15 years before the Aam Aadmi Party, but in the last two elections, the party has not been able to win a single seat.
13,766 polling booths have been set up for all 70 assembly seats in the national capital. 699 candidates are in the fray. To ensure voting, 220 companies of paramilitary forces, 35,626 Delhi Police personnel and 19,000 home guards have been deployed. Around 3,000 polling stations have been identified as sensitive, where strict security arrangements have been made. During the voting, the police team will also monitor the drone.
