Congress Mahila Morcha national president Alka Lamba will contest from Kalkaji seat against Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. Congress general secretary KC Venugopal announced his name on Friday. Congress has so far announced the names of 48 candidates in 3 lists for the Delhi Assembly elections.

After the announcement of the name, Alka said, ‘I am going to contest the fourth assembly elections. Arvind Kejriwal insulted the constitutional post by calling Atishi a temporary CM. The woman CM sitting on that post has been insulted.

In her political career of more than 20 years, Alka has contested three assembly elections. Alka, a student leader, contested the elections in 2003 against BJP leader former CM Madanlal Khurana, in which she lost.

In 2014, Alka left Congress and joined AAP. In 2015, he won from Chandni Chowk seat on AAP ticket. In 2019, she left AAP and joined Congress. She contested again from Chandni Chowk seat in the 2020 elections, in which she stood third.

According to reports, elections may be held in Delhi in the first or second week of February. The current tenure of the 70-seat Delhi Assembly ends on February 23, 2025. Aam Aadmi Party won 62 seats in the elections held in 2020 and 67 seats in 2015.

Alka Lamba has contested assembly elections in 2003, 2015, 2019.

Congress has released 2 lists

The first list of Congress was released on 12 December. There were 21 names in it. The second list was released on 24 December. There were 26 names in it.

Congress has given ticket to Farhad Suri from Jangpura seat. AAP’s Manish Sisodia is contesting from here. Haji Mohammad Ishraq Khan was fielded against AAP’s Gopal Rai from Babarpur seat.

Ticket has been given to Satish Luthra against Satyendra Jain from Shakur Basti and Pushpa Singh against Naresh Yadav from Mehrauli. Kailash Gehlot was the MLA from Mehrauli seat. Recently left AAP and joined BJP.

Were released in the first list of Congress. Congress has given ticket to Sandeep Dixit against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi seat.
