On Monday, on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament, Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned as Vice President late in the evening. In the resignation sent to President Draupadi Murmu, Jagdeep Dhankhar said that I am leaving the post of Vice President with immediate effect. He is the reason for this to ‘give priority to health and follow medical advice’. Dhankhar’s term was to be completed in August 2027 and about 2 years ago, he has started to make political speculations in all the ways due to his sudden resignation.
No one had an idea about Jagdeep Dhankhar that he would suddenly resign from his post, because 11 days ago he announced in a program that he would retire in 2027 at the right time. In this way, Dhankhar had been talking about completing the five -year term of the Vice President, but announced his resignation citing his health at 9:30 pm on Monday evening. In many ways, there were many ways to resign from the post of Vice President.
Dhankhar left post in the middle term
The NDA, led by PM Modi, fielded the then Governor of West Bengal, Jagdeep Dhankhar in the year 2022. In the election of Vice President on 6 August 2022, Jagdeep Dhankhar defeated the opposition candidate Margaret Alva. Dhankhar got 528 votes out of a total of 725, while Alva got 182 votes. Jagdeep Dhankhar was sworn in as the 14th Vice President of the country on 10 August.
Dhankhar’s term as Vice President was till 10 August 2027. In this way, Dhankhar’s tenure was still two years left. Despite this, he has resigned from his post. In a letter to the President, he wrote, I am resigning from the post of Vice President of India with immediate effect while following the priority of health and medical advice. He thanked the President to the Prime Minister and the cabinet for cooperation.
How to change the mood of Dhankar in 11 days
Jagdeep Dhankar was talking about completing a five -year term till 11 days ago. On July 10, Jagdeep Dhankhar attended a program of Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. During this time, he had said that, if I am pleased with God in August 2027 at the right time, I will retire. His term was till 10 August 2027. In this context, Dhankhar as Vice President was talking about completing a five -year term, but on Monday he resigned.

After this, Mahendra hugged Pal and started crying. There was a sudden pain in the chest of Dhankhar, after which doctors checked up in Raj Bhavan.
After fixing Dhankhar, on July 10, he said that he will fulfill his tenure. He addressed the Rajya Sabha on the first day of the monsoon session. He had appealed to the political parties to reduce political tension and conflict along with speaking on the issue of impeachment. Being the Vice President, he was also responsible for running the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha. On Monday, he conducted the action of Uddan for the whole day, but late in the night he resigned as Vice President and surprised everyone.
Third Vice President could not complete the tenure
There were two more Vice Presidents before Jagdeep Dhankar, who could not complete his term. Krishna Kant was sworn in as Vice President on 21 August 1997, but died during his tenure on 27 July 2002. For this reason, he could not complete his term. Apart from this, VV Giri also resigned during his tenure as Vice President in 1969, so that he could contest the presidential election. Why Dhankar left the post of Vice President
Originally, no one had an idea about Jagdeep Dhankhar coming from Rajasthan that he would suddenly resign. Actually, a proposal has been brought to remove Justice Yashwant Verma on the first day of the monsoon session. The proposal to remove Yashwant Verma in the Rajya Sabha has been proposed by the opposition, while the Modi government was preparing to bring the proposal in the Lok Sabha. Even before the proposal came in the Lok Sabha, Dhankar accepted the opposition’s proposal in the Rajya Sabha. The Rajya Sabha has more than 50 members signature and was part of the process of removing the High Court judge. It is believed that the government was angry with this move of Dhankhar.
Was Dhankar angry with JP Nadda
If sources are to be believed, the government did not digest the proposal to remove Yashwant Verma in the Rajya Sabha, after which JP Nadda in the House said that my words will be recorded in the record, it was an insult to the chair directly on Tau. However, JP Nadda said that he did not insult the chair, but because of the noise by the opposition.
In the midst of the proceedings of the House, the second meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) was held at around 4.30 pm and it was present as a representative of the ruling party, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan. Murugan urged Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar to get the meeting on the next day i.e. on Tuesday.
In the Rajya Sabha, the Rajya Sabha was said to be angry with the absence of Sadan JP Nadda and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju at the Jagdeep Dhankhar BAC meeting. The Business Advisory Committee had a meeting twice the previous day, but no result was found.
Congress MP Sukhdev Bhagat has also questioned the absence of JP Nadda and Kiren Rijiju in the BAC meeting. In this way, Nadda expressed his disrespect and gave a political message to Jagdeep Dhankhar. It is believed that Dhankar has resigned from the Vice President for this reason.
