In the Karnataka Dharmasthal case, the complainant Chinnaiya appeared before the Additional Civil Judge and Judicial First Class Magistrate of Belthangadi late Saturday. He said that the complaint and both testimony made in the case so far were false. Told that he did this at the behest of some people.

Chinnaiya is currently lodged in Shivamoga jail. His statement was recorded under Section 183 of the Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS). SIT had already arrested Chinnaiya on charges of false testimony. It was claimed that he made false claims during the court proceedings on 11 July.

Actually, there is a Dharmasthal temple on the banks of the Netravati river near Mangaluru in Karnataka. This temple is a form of Lord Shiva by Shri Manjunath. On July 4, the cleaning personnel here claimed to have a letter to the police for several murders, rape and burial bodies. After which the investigation started.

On July 4, the former scavenger claimed to be buried in the forests here.

No woman’s body has been recovered yet

According to reports, Chinnaiya made a statement in front of the Belthangadi Magistrate on July 11 and presented a skull and some bones. He claimed that the remains belonged to a woman who was sexually abused. But in the forensic report, this remains were found to be a male.

Chinneya claimed that the bodies of more than 100 women and girls were buried by putting pressure on her. However, SIT has so far excavated 17 places, out of which only men’s skeletons have been recovered at 2 places.

Read what statement the complainant gave …

  • Used to work in the temple between 1998 and 2014. I am coming forward now, because the feeling of regrets and justice to the victims is not letting me live peacefully. In 1998, the supervisor of the Dharmasthal asked me to quiet the corpses for the first time. When I refused, I was brutally beaten and threatened to kill the family
  • In 2014, my minor relative also had sexual harassment, after which I ran away from the Dharmasthal along with the family and lived in another state with anonymous identity.
  • The accused Dharmasthal is a very influential people associated with the temple administration, who eliminate the protesters.
  • I have handed over the evidence of the picture and the remained remains to the police. I am also ready for polygraph test and scientific investigation.

Following the statement of the complainant, the investigation team excavated at several places from July 13.

A skeleton and some human bones were found during the excavation.
