BJP MLA SR Vishwanath from Gauribidanur in Chikkallapura district said that a malicious campaign is being run against Dharmasthala. On August 16, he announced to take out a ‘Dharmasthala Chalo’ rally from Jelhanka to Dharmasthala, which will include more than 200 cars adorned with saffron flags.

BJP MLA Vishwanath expressed displeasure over the masked person’s claim, in which he had asked for the victims of rape and murder. The MLA said that if he is telling the truth, he should be hanged first, because he is a crime.

In Shivamogga, former Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa said that the claim of burying hundreds of bodies in the shrine is false and an insult to the Hindu community. He demanded the state government to immediately arrest the unknown person and find out the elements working behind it.
Conspiracy to erase evidence
Manjunath N, the lawyer of the mother of the missing MBBS student Ananya Bhat, accused the SIT that an attempt has been made to hide the evidence by deliberately putting fresh soil and debris in the Bahubali Hills forest area. However, SIT says that the place where the excavation was done was not a landfill.
Three YouTubers attacked, six arrested
There was a clash between two groups after the attack on three YouTubers and a cameraman on August 6 in Pangala area of Dharmasthal. In this case, the police arrested six accused- Padmaprasad, Suhas, Guruprasad, Sasikumar, Kalander and Chetan on bail.
Case filed against journalist
The Belthangadi police has registered a case against journalist Vasant Giliar for a Facebook post. It is alleged that his post was about to spread communal malice, in which the number of mosques in the map of the shrine was shown in red.
