Senior Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor on Thursday admitted that there are differences with the party leadership on some of his issues, but this is not a big rift and he is fully dedicated to the values ​​of the Congress. He also made it clear that he was absent in campaigning in the Nilambur by -election in Kerala because he did not get an invitation from the party leadership.
Speaking to reporters, Shashi Tharoor said that I did not get any invitation from the party. But there is no resentment in this. He said that when the by -election was the time to promote, he was on a foreign tour on an official diplomatic mission and no phone or request was made by the party even after returning. He said that during this time he took part in the programs already decided in the Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting in Delhi.
However, on the election day, he reached Kerala and appealed to the people to vote in support of the party candidate. He said that our candidates are good and I appeal to the people to vote for them. When he was asked whether this is a sign of displeasure with the party leadership, Tharoor denied it. He said that Congress workers are working hard in campaigning and the workers of their own area Thiruvananthapuram are also giving full support. My workers have won me four times and they live with me all the time.
