The ongoing protest demanding planning of displaced in Bokaro Steel City of Jharkhand became violent when BSL (Bokaro Steel Limited) security team and CISF lathi -charged the protesters. 26 -year -old Prem Mahato died in this incident, while many women were injured.
According to the report, the injured have been admitted to Bokaro General Hospital, where their treatment is going on. After this incident, tension in the area has increased and the resentment of the displaced has erupted. In fact, a large group of displaced was demonstrating with ADM Building demanding planning (employment). The displaced people say that they had given their land to BSL, but till date they have not got a job.
When the protesters intensified the protest against their demand, the security forces used force to lathi -charged. 26 -year -old Prem Mahato was seriously injured during lathicharge and later died.
Stressful situation, increased outrage
After the death of Prem Mahato, the anger among the protesters increased further. A large number of displaced ADM Building and Bokaro General have gathered outside the hospital. The protesting people say that they will intensify their movement until they get justice. The administration has deployed additional police force to bring the situation under control.
Congress MLA Sveta Singh reached the spot as soon as the news of the incident was received. He made serious allegations against the government and the BSL management, saying that their land was taken from the displaced, but when they came to ask for a job, they were lathirs. He also said that a young man died due to this lathicharge, which is very unfortunate and unjust.
Local administration and BSL officials are refraining from saying anything about this incident. According to sources, the administration is trying to normalize the situation. The displaced have made it clear that if their demands are not met, they will make their agitation further.
