Congress MLA from Karnataka H.A. Iqbal Hussain on Sunday (June 29, 2025) claimed that Deputy CM DK Shivkumar could get an opportunity to become the Chief Minister of the state within the next two to three months. This comment of the MLA, considered close to Shivkumar, came amid speculation of leadership change in Karnataka later this year.
After the recent statement of Cooperative Minister KN Rajanna, the discussion started again, indicating revolutionary political changes in the state after September. He said that you all know what was our (Congress) strength before this government came to power.
‘We are confident that the high command is aware of the situation’ According to PTI, the Congress MLA said that everyone knows who struggled to achieve this victory and who sweated. His (Shivkumar’s) strategy and program is now history. When reporters in Ramnagar asked Hussain if Shivkumar had a chance to become CM, he said that I do not believe in speculation. We are confident that the high command is aware of the situation and will take appropriate decisions at the right time to give them opportunity. & Nbsp;
When Congress MLA Iqbal Hussain was asked whether DK Shivkumar would become CM this year, Hussain replied yes. He said that the decision will be made within two to three months. & Nbsp;
The son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that there was a speculation Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son and Congress MLC Yatindra Siddaramaiah dismissed the CM, saying that the Congress high command decided to form the government after the 2023 assembly elections, we were all together in Delhi. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge took the decision. Everyone knows this and they will take the next decision till then we have to wait and see.
‘Today’s situation is expected to change’ & nbsp; replying to Rajanna’s claims about many power centers within the Congress, Hussain dismissed him, saying that there is only one power center and that is the party high command. There is discipline and commitment in the Congress and everyone follows it. People from many communities have worked for the party and they have sacrificed and fought for it.
