Cambridge Dictionary has included more than 6,000 new words in its online dictionary. Of these, ‘Skibidi’, ‘Delulu’ and ‘Tradewife’ are the main ones. 1. Skibidi
‘Skibidi’ has become a viral trend and this word has many meanings from ‘cool’ to ‘bad’. The word is also used in fun without meaning, such as “Skibidi what are you doing?”
It also got a boost due to the Russian band Little Big, whose 2018 hit song Squidi was viewed more than 70 crores and went viral. Apart from this, famous celebrities also joined this craze, and reality star Kim Kardashian recently used the term Skybidi on Instagram.
2. Tradwife
The word tradwife is a short form of traditional wife Shabd. ‘Tradewife’ is a new word, which means traditional wife. It is used for women who promote the life of household on social media. These women usually post food, cleaning and upbringing of children. She often describes herself as the traditional roles of the 1950s.
Tradewife ‘means – a wife who plays traditional roles, especially which shows a glimpse of her domestic life on social media. Some people say that it promotes old thinking and stereotypes, while some believe that it is just a lifestyle choice.
3. delulu
It is a small and funny form of the word “delusional” (confused). Usually it means, often intentionally believing in such things which is not true. The word comes from the K-Pop Fundum, where people used to imagine connecting themselves with celebrities (Parasocial Relationship), and now also as a humor on social media.
After joining these words in Cambridge Dictionary, people are commenting in various ways on social media.
