Xi Jinping described this meeting as historic and said that the world is going through a period of major changes at this time. China and India are not only two most ancient civilizations, but are also the most populous countries in the world and are part of Global South.
75th anniversary of India-China diplomatic relations
The Chinese President also said that this year is the 75th anniversary of India-China diplomatic relations. In such a situation, both countries should look at mutual relations from a strategic and long -term perspective. He stressed that both countries should promote more democracy in multilatorlism, multipler world and international institutions while fulfilling their historical obligations. Also, work should be done for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.

At the same time, Xi Jinping’s team included External Affairs Minister Wang Yi, Prime Minister Lee Kiang, Director General Office Kai Chi and India’s Ambassador to China Shoo Faihong.
