Earthquake tremors were felt in China on Friday morning. The National Center for Sisamology posted a post from its X handle and said that the intensity of the earthquake was measured at 4.5 on the Richter scale. According to Indian time, these tremors were felt at 6.29 am on the morning of 16 May, which was 10 km in depth. However, there is no news of loss of life and property in it. Earlier on May 12, earthquake tremors were felt in China.
The 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred at Lahje County of South-West China’s Shijang Autonomas Region at 5:11 am on May 12. The Xinhua news agency said that there was no loss of life and property due to this earthquake and there was no damage to the necessary infrastructure including water, electricity, roads and communications. China was quoted by the Earthquake Network Center (CENC) as saying that the earthquake came at a depth of 10 km, which was 28.91 degrees northern latitude and 87.54 degrees at the east longitude.
