Earthquake tremors were felt on Sunday night in the southeastern area of Afghanistan. According to the United States Geological Survey, the Richter -scale earthquake was recorded at 6.3. According to a report by Reuters, nine people died due to earthquake, while 25 people were injured. Earthquake tremors were felt in Afghanistan as well as Pakistan.
People are still in panic after the earthquake. The earthquake came at 12.47 pm on Sunday night, first there was a magnitude of 6.0 and then a shock of 6.3. Nakibullah Rahimi, spokesman of the Nangarhar Public Health Department of Afghanistan, said that nine people have died due to earthquake. The injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment.
What did Taliban spokesperson say about earthquake
Taliban spokesman Jabiullah Mujahid Has expressed grief by reacting to this matter. He said via X post, “Unfortunately, tonight earthquake has caused heavy loss of life and property in some of our eastern provinces. Local officials are engaged in rescue operations of the affected people. Assistance teams are also reaching the center and nearby provinces. ”
