According to the report, IndiGo will now connect Hindon Airport from Bengaluru, Kolkata, Varanasi, Goa, Patna, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Indore. Earlier, Air India Express started flights from Hindon and now IndiGo has become the second major airline that is operating from this airport.

Describing it as the success of the UDAN scheme, the minister said that “it is not just Hindon or western Uttar Pradesh, but a flight of the whole country, it is a flight of common Indian ambitions and expectations.” He said that in the last decade, the number of airlines, the capacity of the airport and the number of passengers in the country have doubled.

The development work of Hindon Airport started under the UDAN scheme in 2019, on which about 50 crore rupees were spent. In 2019, where only 8,000 passengers used to fly from this airport in collaboration with the Air Force, now this figure has crossed 80,000.
