Ed action in West Bengal Teachers Recruitment Scam Seizes Property Worth 19 Crores Ann

West Bengal Teachers Recruitment Scam: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has temporarily attached assets worth Rs 27.19 crore in the teacher recruitment scam held in West Bengal. This action has been taken in the case of disturbances in the recruitment of Group-C and Group-D Staff of West Bengal Central School Service Commission.

This time the properties that the central agency has attached is in the name of three tea companies of Prasanna Kumar Roy. These include M/S Samsing Organic Tea Private Limited, M/S Yangtong Organic Tea Private Limited, M/S Bamandanga Tea Estate Private Limited.

Supreme Court canceled by finding disturbances in appointments

The attached properties of the agency include bungalows, factory, plant, machinery and vehicles. According to the ED, this property was purchased with the money that was incorrectly charged in exchange for Group C and D government jobs.

Recently, the Supreme Court gave a big verdict on the matter on 3 April 2025. The court clearly stated that more than 25,000 teaching and non-teaching staff appointments were completely messed up and biased. After this, the Supreme Court canceled all these appointments of West Bengal.

CBI recorded two in scam Fir

Earlier, the CBI had registered two FIRs in this scam. On the basis of which the ED started investigation. Investigation revealed that many such people were given jobs who were not in the merit list. While real qualified candidates were excluded. All this happened under a well thought out conspiracy. Which included many people.

So far, a total assets of 636.88 crore have been attached in the case

The ED has already attached assets worth 219.91 crore in this case. Chief broker Prasanna Kumar Roy and his associate Chandan Mandal are in jail. Apart from this, the ED has also taken action in matters related to other recruitment of teachers. Property worth 238.78 crore has been attached in the recruitment scam of Assistant teachers of class 9th to 12th. Apart from this, assets worth 151 crore have been attached in Primary Teachers Recruitment Scam. In this way, ED has so far attached assets worth 636.88 crores in all cases related to government recruitment in West Bengal. At the same time, the investigation of ED in this case is still going on. There may be further arrest in this case in the coming days.
