The Enforcement Directorate (ED), taking major action in the money laundering case, has attached movable and movable assets worth Rs 25.16 crore associated with Sundar Marketing Associates and its partners Raman Sokhal, Satbir Chikara and others. This action has been taken under the Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The attached properties include cash, farming land, residential plot, houses, flats and commercial offices.
This investigation of ED was started by Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) against Goverdhan Mines and Mineals on the basis of complaints. After this, on 14 August 2023, an FIR was also registered against the beautiful marketing associates and its partners in various sections of the IPC.
Landslide occurred due to illegal mining, 5 people lost their lives
Investigation revealed that Raman Sokhal, Vinod Sokhal, Satbir Singh Chikara and his close colleagues formed a company called Sundar Marketing Associates and took a stone mining lease of Dadam Hill in Tosham village in Bhiwani district of Haryana in 2015. It is alleged that these people went out of the fixed limit and did illegal and unrestricted mining, which damaged the state exchequer and earned huge earnings. Due to this illegal mining, there was a landslide in the area, in which 5 people lost their lives.
Earlier, ED had seized assets worth Rs 4.81 crore like cash, bank balance, jewelery, luxury vehicles etc. by putting red in many places in this case. At the same time, Vedpal Singh Tanwar, the main person of Goverdhan Mines and Mineals, was arrested on 30 May 2024. His regular bell court had dismissed the money laundering case against him. He is currently on the interim bell on the medical ground. ED investigation has also revealed that the accused bought a black money earning of about Rs 71.32 crore from illegal mining and with the same money. Till now, assets worth 25.16 crore have been attached. The investigation of the remaining properties is going on.
