Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has dismissed reports of any differences with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He said that everything is fine in the Mahayuti alliance (BJP-NCP-Shiv Sena) and no cold war is going on between them.
The news of the rift between them came into the limelight when Shinde made a medical cell like Chief Minister Relief Fund. The opposition had raised questions about Shinde’s move. Shinde said on Tuesday that this new cell will not work as a competition system but with the war room of the Chief Minister so that patients can get better services.
When I was the Chief Minister, on 31 October 2023, the then Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis formed one such medical aid sale. I just reconstructed it again so that it could work better.
Fadnavis also dismisses the controversy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also dismissed the news of differences. He said, “The formation of such a cell is not a wrong thing, because its aim is to help the needy people. When I was the Deputy Chief Minister, I also made a similar cell.”
Opposition’s charge, dual government is running in the state Shinde’s clarification comes after the allegations of opposition parties, in which Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut claimed that the state is “parallel government”. Raut said, if the government continues in this way, political instability will increase further in Maharashtra.
Close to Shinde said- had done the same thing earlier
Mangesh Chivate, head of the new medical aid cell and close to Shinde, said on the issue that this is not a new initiative.
He said, “When Shinde was the Chief Minister, I was still doing the same thing through the CM Relief Fund and helped many needy patients. Now this new cell fund will not distribute, but will help the needy patients. “
Y-category security of 20 MLAs of Shinde faction reduced
Recently, the Y category security of 20 MLAs of Shiv Sena Shinde faction in Maharashtra has been lifted. The India Today report claimed that only one constable has been deployed in the protection of these MLAs.
At the same time, there are reports of reducing security of some MLAs of BJP and NCP (Ajit faction). Although neither the government has issued a statement on this, nor the MLAs have spoken anything, but media reports claimed that Shinde is angry with the decision.
Sanjay Raut and Priyanka Chaturvedi targeted
Opposition parties have also taken a dig at this decision to remove security. Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted, “Mahayuti is celebrating Valentine’s Month … No.” At the same time, Sanjay Raut described it as a sign of a rift in the Mahayuti government.
Where did Fadnavis and Shinde have reports of rift …. 3 reasons
- Deputy CM Shinde held a review meeting of the Department of Industries on 17 February. The Ministry of Industry is with Shinde. The review meeting of this department was also held by CM Fadnavis in January, then Eknath Shinde did not attend it.
- On February 12, the CM convened a meeting on the preparations for Nashik Kumbh to be held in 2027, Shinde did not attend it. Shinde had a separate meeting of Kumbh preparations on 14 February.
- According to senior government officials, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister holding separate meetings are being repetitive to work. This is not only a waste of time, but the functioning of departments is also being affected.
