Electric Vehicles Cold Get Charged in 5 Minutes, byd Presents New Charging System, Elon Musk, Tesla

Electric vehicles (EV) have increased popularity over the years. However, EV sales are not increasing rapidly. The major reason for this is the longer time taken in charging the battery of these vehicles. This problem may be resolved soon. Chinese EV maker byd has introduced a new battery and charging system that will take almost the same time for EV charging in which fuel can be filled in a car with a combustion engine.

Byd has tried this system in his new HAN L sedan on the sedan. In this test, a range of about 470 km has been achieved by charging for only five minutes. Byding the American EV maker Tesla behind, Byd has secured the first position in EV sales. The new system may strengthen the company’s position in this market. In comparison, Tesla’s supercharger can provide a range of about 275 km in 15 minutes of charging. Wang Chuanfu, the founder of Byd, said that cars from the company’s new EV platforms will be able to reach a speed of about 100 kilometers per hour in just two seconds.

The sale of Electric and Hybrid cars has been around 3.18 lakh units in February. This is an increase of about 161 percent as compared to the same period last year. The company’s largest automobile market is a leading place in China with about 15 percent stake in China.

Recently, Byd launched Sealion 7 Electric SUV in India. It will be available in two variants – Premium RWD and Performance AWD. Its price is between about Rs 48.90 lakh to Rs 54.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Booking for Sealion 7 can be done for Rs 70,000. The design of this electric SUV is similar to the company’s ‘Ocean Series’. Its cabin is with black theme. Sealion 7 has a 15.6 inch rotable infotainment system and a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster. It provides features such as crystal gear selector and driver monitoring system. The front bumper of this electric SUV has air vents for cooling of battery pack.
