A helicopter flying from Vastasu (Sirsi) for Kedarnath had to land on the highway on Saturday due to technical reasons. All 5 passengers and pilots aboard the helicopter are safe during this emergency landing.
Back of damaged helicopter
In the accident, the back of the helicopter has been damaged and a vehicle parked on the highway has also been damaged by the collision. On receiving the information of the incident, Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) took cognizance of the case and reported it to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Officials said that the investigation of the case has been started. At the time of the accident, the helicopter was on Kedarnath Yatra and all the passengers are being told pilgrims. All were immediately evacuated after landing.
Fourth helicopter accident after Chardham Yatra begins
This is the fourth helicopter accident after the commencement of Chardham Yatra. Earlier, emergency landing of a helicopter has been done near Kedarnath Helipad, in which two AIIMS doctors and pilots were narrowly survived. The administration has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.
