The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has given great relief to the people. In fact, EPFO has increased the deadline to activate the Universal Account Number (UAN) and link the bank account to Aadhaar and now these important work can be done by 15 March 2025 next month. Information in this regard has been shared on Tuesday on the official Twitter (now x) account of EPFO through a post. It states that the last date for UAN activation and Aadhaar seeding ended on 15 February, but it has once again been extended till March 15. It has been written in this post, ‘Somewhere forget not go …’, in such a situation, the hope of moving further of this deadline is rarely seen. Therefore, it is important that this work should be touched immediately without waiting for the last date.

Why is UAN activation necessary?
Significantly, the universal account number i.e. UAN is of one 12 digits and through this, employees can track every information related to their PF account. It is necessary to be activated, because only when this happens, employees can take advantage of EPFO Online Services. This includes PF account information to download your passbook. Online application can also be made for withdrawal or PF transfer of money deposited in PF account.
After linking the UA number activation and Aadhaar to the bank account, employees can also avail the ELI Scheme related to ELI Scheme. Under this scheme, the government gives many benefits to encourage new employees, including incentives.
How to install UAN Activate like this?
- Go to EPFO’s official website epfindia.gov.in.
- Now click on for Employees in the services section on the left side of the screen.
- After this, click on the Member UAN online service seen on the page.
- Click on Activate UAN seen in the important link on the new page.
- Now fill 12 digits UAN, Aadhaar number, name, date of birth, mobile number and captcha.
- Click on the declaration box and click on Get Authorization PIN.
- OTP will come on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar, fill it and click on submit.
- By doing this, UAN will be activated and a password will come on your mobile.
- Now login by filling the captcha code visible after entering UAN and password.
