Former coach Ravi Shastri has strongly criticized the Indian team management’s decision to comfort Jaspreet Bumrah in Edgbaston Test. ‘The decision should not be in the hand of the player’
Shastri further said that such decisions should not be of players but of captain and coaching staff. He said that India needs to retaliate immediately and Bumrah must have played in such a match. Shastri said that the team had got a week’s break, yet Bumrah is not playing. This is an important match in terms of series, so Bumrah must have played.
Akash Deep has been included in the team in place of Bumrah. At the same time, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar got a chance in place of Sai Sudarshan and Shardul Thakur. Shastri also questioned the team about the exclusion of Sai Sudarshan. Shastri said that I was surprised that Sai Sudarshan was dropped, while he had performed brilliantly in the last Test. This is wrong with him.
