Actor Vishal Jethwa, who has entered Bollywood from TV industry and making the film world crazy, has now reached the Oscar. On 26 September, Vishal’s film ‘Homebound’ was released in Indian cinemas. In this heart-breaking story of fulfilling two friends, caste and dreams, Vishal Jethwa has done a good job. He is accompanied by Ishaan Khattar and Jahnavi Kapoor in the picture. Aaj Tak.com had a special conversation with Vishal Jethwa, in which he told about his journey. Also remembered the father.

Has made failure your friend

Vishal Jethwa lived in Mumbai’s trick before entering acting. In such a situation, we asked him how was his journey to get out of the trick and reach homebound? In response, Vishal said, ‘My journey was very long. It has been 15-16 years since I stepped into the industry. There are many ups and downs. I would like to thank my best friends, named failure (failure) and rejections. I have made a lot of failure and rejections my friend. Has done a lot of face.

He further said, ‘Thousands of auditions must have been given, then your number is attached to one or two. Keep messaging everywhere, calling everywhere, trying to meet them and continue to work with your clear intentions. Sometimes a self -doubt is. Never cry. Sometimes the director gets scolded. I have seen all these things in life. With ups and downs. And I was never going to stay frozen in the past. I have been moving forward. But life is in slow pace. Therefore, perhaps his importance is also more. Now when I listen to my story from outside as an audience, then I feel that I am proud of myself. I am very proud of myself, I am very proud of my journey. A very big hand in this was of family support.

Mother gave support to the father

The contribution of the parents of Vishal Jethwa coming from poor home has been big in his journey. He told in an interview that his mother used to work from house to house. In a conversation with Aaj Tak, the actor said, ‘My mother has always been supportive in this journey, very much. From the very beginning, he felt that I could do something good. I wanted to go to acting class, he never doubted him. I had a matter of hobbies. Mother filled the class money on installment and I joined the acting class. The U Star Theater group was a very small acting class, which no one knows by the name. There was an acting class in Meera Road, so I just planned to join by looking there in hobby. Mother surprised me that we have joined. I was happy.

He further said, ‘When my father was, he used to say in fun that my son is a hero. One day someone took me from somewhere in childhood for audition. Then he called all the people around and said that my son became a hero. I do not know why he said this, but that’s why I had also shared that post that today he would have been very happy. As soon as my film entered the Oscar, I wrote that. He would have been very happy if he had been a father, he would like it. I remember the people of my family in such moments.

How was your relationship with father?

Vishal Jethwa recalled his father during the interview. He told that when he was 13 years old, he lost his father. Vishal said, ‘I did not know much about the equation (with him), because I was 13 years old and my father passed away. As much as I remember, my father was a very clean and very supportive person, a helpful person. He had brought many people from the village here, to work, to teach, so that those people can leave the village and do something in the city. This was his nature. Was very naive. Was sensitive.

The actor further said, ‘I feel that I am like him to a large extent. It is easy to make me happy, it is also easy to sad. I also like to help people in one way or the other, bring them forward. I like all these things. How was my equity with father, he got less time to find out. (Life was difficult after his departure.) Responsibilities came a little early. This did not realize that when I am older, I realized that I started working at a young age. Whereas at the age in which I am living, people go to college and have fun. Go to Lonavala to visit Lonavala, trip out of country. I used to think all these things.

The premiere of Vishal Jethwa’s film ‘Homebound’ took place at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. In this prestigious festival, the film of director Neeraj Ghewan got a 9 -minute standing ovation. Apart from this, the screening was done in Toronto Film Festival 2025 and Melbourne Film Festival 2025. In the Oscar Award 2026, ‘Homebound’ has been sent as an official entry from the Indian.
