Because of this action, ICC has imposed a fine of 20% of the match fee on him. Every Indian player gets Rs 15 lakh for playing a test match. 20% will be deducted from Virat Kohli’s match fees. This means that he will get Rs 12 lakh from the Boxing Day Test. Virat Kohli will have to pay a fine of Rs 3 lakh for pushing Sam Costas.

According to the ICC, Virat Kohli was charged with a Level 1 breach of the code of conduct and given one demerit point. This is Kohli’s first demerit point since 2019.
