Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will leave for a 4 -day American tour from today. The main objective of this tour is to attend a meeting of Foreign Ministers of Quad countries (India, America, Australia and Japan) and inaugurate the exhibition based on terrorism at the United Nations Headquarters.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (Mea), the tour is taking place at the invitation of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. In the quad meeting to be held on 1 July, the minister will discuss the status of the Indo-Pacific Ocean region, global and regional developments, and the agenda of the upcoming Quad Leaders Summit. The meeting will consider new strategies and proposals to carry forward the shared thinking of issues related to independent and open Indo-Pacific Ocean region.

Inauguration of exhibition in UN
Quad, which is an impressive alliance to promote peace, security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, is considered strategically important for India. On June 30, Jaishankar will inaugurate an exhibition called “The Human Cost of Terrorism” at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The exhibition will outline international efforts against human damage and terrorism caused by terrorist attacks around the world. This exhibition is considered to be an attempt to provide global support to India’s campaign, which is against terrorism across the border from Pakistan.
