He made fake documents of the army, wore lieutenant colonel uniforms and used badges and rubber stamps to mislead the victims.

A police officer said that the accused Sumit Singh has also been involved in many serious cases in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. This includes rape, fraud case in Lucknow and forgery in Hardoi. The accused, originally from Jaunpur in UP, had also received the card of the army canteen. Even had issued fake recruitment letters under the Ministry of Defense. A case has been registered against her on the complaint of the female lawyer.

He further said, “The woman has alleged that Sumit Singh presented herself as an army officer in July 2024. He had promised to get a legal position in the Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT). The accused also took a mobile phone of Rs 1.6 lakh from the complainant with false excuses. Police said that Sumit Singh rigged the recruitment letters, used false identity and also pressured the complainant to marry. His fraud came to light when the victims re -examined his claims and found discrepancies in the documents given by him. The police arrested the accused from a rented house in Bindapur.

During the interrogation of the police, the accused confessed his crime. Two fake rubber stamps of the Indian Army, a military uniform with four lieutenant colonel badges, a canteen card, three fake recruitment letters and a motorcycle purchased with cheating money have been recovered. The police is investigating further in this case. Efforts are being made to find out that the accused has not made anyone other than these victims.
