In Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the Food Safety Department has taken major action and thwarted the conspiracy of fake cheese business. An illegal cheese factory was busted in Milia village of Deoband region, where fake cheese was being prepared with the help of refined oil and chemical. This cheese was prepared for supply in the surrounding districts.
In fact, in the raid under the leadership of Food Safety Officer Manoj Kumar Verma, about 7 quintals prepared fake cheese, 450 liters of adulterated milk and plants used in cheese production were seized. During the raid, the people present there escaped by throwing the team filled with refined oil in the field, but five empty tins were recovered. The recovered cheese was destroyed by digging the pit with the help of bulldozers and the factory was sealed.

Food Safety Department official Manoj Kumar Verma said that additional vigilance is being taken to stop the supply of fake food products in view of festivals. On 2 July and 19 July, a large amount of fake cheese was destroyed in a similar action. The teams of the department are conducting regular inspections and night patrol teams have also been activated.

Manoj Kumar Verma further informed that consumers are being advised to buy food items only after checking quality. Consumption of fake cheese can weaken immunity and increases the risk of skin, stomach and other diseases. The department has appealed to the public that if there is a possibility of adulteration at any place, then give immediate information. The purpose of the department is not only to take action, but to provide pure and safe food items to the public. At the same time, this action is being considered a very important step for a vigilant administration and healthy society before Rakshabandhan.
