Delhi’s Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) has revealed a big fake Pharmacy Registration Scam. Many fake formacists and chemists have been caught in this scam, who were running medicines shop by registering on the basis of fake documents.
Actually, on 30 January 2024, a complaint was lodged by the Health and Family Welfare Department Delhi Government that the then Registrar of Delhi Pharmacy Council Kuldeep Singh has registered three candidates as pharmacists on the basis of fake documents. The investigation of the case was given to ACB. On 23 April 2024, ACB was allowed to investigate it. After this a case was registered and action started.
35 fake formacists/chemists arrested so far
During the investigation of ACB, it was revealed that the accused Kuldeep Singh (17 March 2020 to 25 September 2023) had approved the registration of a total of 4,928 pharmacists. So far, 35 fake pharmacists/chemists have been arrested and the rest of the registrations are under investigation. Online registration of pharmacists was started from 21 July 2020 through a private company VMC but this process was done without any tender and rules without any tender.
Applicants uploaded fake diploma and training certificates online, whose fake confirmation was done by employees of pharmacy colleges through e-mail. In this scam, a chief broker named Sanjay played the role of middleman between Pharmacy Council and Diploma colleges and was involved in bribery transactions.
‘In the investigation of computer system, many fake certificates were found’
ACB has seized fake training certificate, diploma, computer system and printers. Many pharmacists and chemists were running a drugstore in Delhi without any merit, some were not even 10th pass. So far 47 people have been arrested in this entire case, including former registrar Kuldeep Singh, Clerk, 6 Brokers, 1 printing shop owner, 35 pharmacy colleges, 35 fake pharmacists/chemists. ACB is investigating this entire scam in depth. It is also being investigated how many more fake pharmacists are working without merit in Delhi.
