Three districts will be applicable in the first phase On 7 April 2015, the NGT directed that old vehicles should not be allowed to run in NCR. These vehicles will not get petrol and diesel, all the automatic number plate readers (ANPR) cameras will be installed on it. The deadline for installing cameras has been kept on 31 October.
The vehicle will be identified at the entry point of the pump Faridabad RTA Munish Sehgal said that after installing an automatic number plate reader camera at the petrol pump, 10 -year -old diesel and 15 -year -old petrol vehicle will be identified at the entry point of the pump. With the help of software, complete information of the concerned vehicle will be available.
If the vehicles are 10 and 15 years old, they will be refused to give petrol and diesel, as they scan the software number plate and get information from the vehicle database. If the age of the vehicle is more than the prescribed limit, it marks it. Subsequently, an alert is sent to the concerned authorities.
Vehicle drivers will be charged heavy fine The second phase will start in the year 2026 after the first phase in the order issued by the Commission. It will also be started from November 1, 2026. In this, giving petrol and diesel to end of life vehicles in all other districts of NCR will be banned.
