Leeds: Fast bowler Harshit Rana has been included in the Indian Test team as an alternative and reached Leeds by train along with the rest of the team, where the first match of the series will be played against England from 20 June.
Harshit Rana was part of the India A team and played the first informal Test against England Lions in Cantorbury. The long tall fast bowler made his debut in Australia last year, but was not included in the 18 -man squad for five Tests in England.
This 23-year-old Delhi has played two Tests, five ODIs and a T20 match. A BCCI source said, “They have been included as an alternative and they reached Leeds with the team today.”
Rana was seen exiting the Leeds train station along with the rest of the team members. The team reached Leeds from London. The first Test will begin on 20 June in Headingley. India played an Intra-Squad match against India A in Bekenham, which was their only practice match for this series.
First Test match will be played from June 20
Earlier, players like Lokesh Rahul, Karun Nair, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shardul Thakur, Dhruv Jurlel and Nitish Reddy reached England with A team. All these players were part of the India A match against England Lions.
