On the morning of Monday (11 August 2025) in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh, members of Hindu organizations protested a mausoleum and sought permission from the administration to pray in the campus. On the matter, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that the BJP has created an atmosphere of hate in the country. In Uttar Pradesh, open exemption has been given to everyone to claim any historical site related to Muslims. All this is happening under the supervision of the state police and the police is not doing anything. If these attackers were Muslims, then think what would have happened.
AIMIM Chief said in a statement that the law is being used at the behest of political ideology and religion. It is a sample of hatred against Muslims and trying to suppress them. It felt as if 1992 had returned. According to the PTI report, Hindu organizations claimed that the tomb of Nawab Abu Samad was built by breaking an ancient temple of ‘Thakur Ji’. After protests by Hindu organizations, security arrangements were made around the centuries-old structure located in Fatehpur district.
Uproar by members of Hindu organizations
In the video broadcast on social media, members of Hindu organizations can be seen allegedly making uproar, vandalizing parts of the structure and hoisting the saffron flag. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district unit president Mukhlal Pal had warned the district administration that he would worship at the place on August 11 with Hindu organizations. He claimed that the centuries-old structure was a temple because a ‘Shivling’ is located inside the tomb. Pal claimed that this place was the temple of ‘Thakur ji’, which was later converted by the invaders. Amid the call of worship on behalf of the BJP district president, the district administration sealed the campus, imposed barricading and banned entry into the premises.
