The American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a serious warning. The FDA has said that the dangerous amount of lead (PB) can dissolve in food while cooking with some imported Cookware (utensils) found in the market. This situation is especially risky for young children, women of reproductive age and breastfeeding mothers.
The FDA and its state partners found in the investigation that utensils made of aluminum, brass (brass) and some aluminum alloys (alloys), called Hindalium/Hindolium or Indalium/Indolium, can contaminate food during cooking. The food cooked with these utensils becomes unsafe.
These are FDA recommendations
Consumers should check such utensils in their homes and throw them out immediately if they fall in the listed category.
Do not donate these utensils nor refurbish. If someone is expected to increase the level of lead exposure or the level of lead in the body, contact your doctor or health care provider immediately.
It is the responsibility of retail vendors and distributors to follow all the rules of FDA and are completely safe.
There are many types of testing methods available for leach testing. For this, a special testing protocol of FDA can also be adopted.
Retail sellers and distributors have been advised to consult FDA on the situation of safety and rules before selling any food-contact product.
The FDA says that this warning has been given only for health protection. If the use of wrong cookware continues for a long time, it can give rise to serious health problems.
