Delhi Police and firefighters managed to control the fire after about an hour.

A fierce fire broke out on the second floor of an electronics showroom, a four -storey four -storey in the Raja Garden area of Delhi on Monday afternoon. In this accident, 4 employees of the showroom died, including 3 women. Another employee was seriously injured, whose condition remains critical.

According to the police, a fire was reported in Mahajan Electronics at 3 pm. Moti Nagar police station in -charge, fire department and other personnel immediately reached the spot. 5 fire engines started trying to control the fire.

Due to fire and dense smoke, the people present in the office on the third floor could not get out. An employee said that at the time of the incident, these five employees went to the third floor for lunch. At that time about 30 employees and customers were present in the showroom.

Sumit, an employee of the shop, told the news agency PTI that it was lunch time. We were talking, laughing. Suddenly, we heard the sound of breakdown and then the light went away. There was a short circuit. Smoke started filling in the room. The fire was first on the first floor of the four -storey building.

According to Sumit, there was chaos when the fire broke out. Employees on the ground floor and the first floor quickly ran away after saving their lives. However, there was chaos on the second and third floors. There was no way to get out. The smoke was dense, nothing was visible.

Nobody noticed that 5 employees are on the upper floor. By the time he came to know about the fire, the fire had spread throughout the office. Fire personnel took out five persons from the third floor after hard work.

All were rushed to the nearest hospital with the help of CATS ambulance, where Payal (25), Ayushi (22), Amandeep Kaur (21) and Salesman Ravi (28) were declared dead. The four died of scorching and suffocation due to fire and smoke. Another employee Sandeep continues to be treated.

West District DCP Vichitra Veer said that the fire was controlled at 4:10 pm. Initial investigation may cause a short circuit to cause fire. The police have started investigating with the help of CCTV footage and forensic experts. A firefighters were also injured while extinguishing the fire, who was given first aid.
