A stampede occurred on Saturday at the TVK (Team Vijay Kazhagam) rally held in Karur, Tamil Nadu. According to preliminary information, about 20 people are feared dead so far in this accident, while dozens of workers fell unconscious. Many children had to be hospitalized immediately. The accident happened when TVK chief Vijay was addressing from Manch. At present, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has issued orders to investigate the incident.

A woman was killed in the accident while a child fainted. After the accident, a case was registered at Chikkadpalli police station on the complaint of the family of the deceased woman.
In this, actor Allu Arjun, his security team and theater management were accused under several sections of the Indian Code (BNS). The police arrested Arjun on 13 December 2024 regarding the death of the woman.

The police resorted to lathicharge to control the crowd.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin described the incident as ‘serious and worrying’. He ordered immediate medical facilities to provide medical facilities and inquired about the situation from ministers and officials. Stalin has instructed Health Minister Subramanian and Minister Ambil Mahesh to expedite the relief work. CM will go to Karur on Sunday and review the situation.
