Two people died and 7 to 10 people were reported missing in heavy floods due to cloudburst incidents in Kangra and Kullu districts of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. Officials have given information about this.
Emergency relief teams, district administration and police officials reached the spot in Khaniyara village of Kangra district, from where two bodies were recovered. According to officials, the total number of people affected by the floods has not yet been estimated.
Many laborers flowing in strong current
The Chief Minister’s Office and the Deputy Commissioner of Kangra have described this situation as ‘serious and rapidly moving towards disaster’. It is being told that a power project was going on in the area, where most of the workers were working, suddenly heavy rains started and many people were swept away in the strong current.

JP Nadda tweeted
Meanwhile, BJP National President J.P. Nadda expressed condolences on the incident and said that full support is being given by the Central and State Government for relief and rescue operations.
He wrote in Hindi on social media platform X, ‘Due to sudden increase in water flow in Mununi Khad of Khaniyara near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, many workers received the sorrow of flowing. I express deep condolences to the bereaved families. In this hour of crisis, every worker of BJP is dedicated to all possible help to the citizens of Devbhoomi.

Alert issued due to cloudburst in Kullu
Hours before this incident, the Mandi district administration issued an alert after a cloudburst in the Sainz Valley of Kullu district. The administration has warned of releasing water from Panhoh Dam to Beas river and local citizens and tourists have been advised to stay away from the banks of the Beas river.
