India on China Hydropower Dam: The Government of India has expressed its concern in front of China about the world’s largest hydro power dam being built by China on the Brahmaputra river. This information was given by the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday (February 06, 2025) in response to a question asked in the Rajya Sabha.
Responding to the question asked by Shiv Sena Uddhav faction MP Sanjay Raut in the Rajya Sabha, the Ministry of External Affairs has said that the Government of India has taken cognizance about the big dam project being constructed in the upper part of the Brahmaputra river, regarding this, Constant talks are also going on with the Chinese government.

The Ministry of External Affairs has said that when India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Mistry visited China, he met the Voice Foreign Minister and discussed there. During this discussion, it was decided that the expert level committee will soon discuss this issue so that the interests of both countries can be protected. China is planning to build a dam on the Brahmaputra river. In China, this river is called Yarlung Tsangpo. Yarlung Tsangpo is a powerful river there.
