In a conversation with NDTV, Prahlad Joshi said that ‘Election Commission is doing what Rahul Gandhi had sought in his letter. He himself said that there are disturbances in the voter list and they should be corrected. Now when it is being corrected, Rahul Gandhi is saying that our voters will be stolen. Prahlad Joshi said that the opposition only opposed to protest. If he is worked on Rahul Gandhi’s letter, he has a problem, and even if not done, there is a problem.
41 lakh voter feared to be out of the list
Due to the SIR process, more than 41 lakh voters in Bihar are expected to be out of the list, which was 35.6 lakhs till a few days ago. Due to this, there is anger among the opposition parties and allegations are being made that opposition supporters are being deliberately removed from the list.
Tejashwi Yadav sought support from 35 parties
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday wrote a letter to 35 major political parties seeking cooperation. He wrote- ‘The special revision process going on in Bihar is an attack on a spectacle and democracy, which is deprived of millions of voters franchise.’ Tejashwi Yadav also alleged that an independent organization like Election Commission is losing the trust of the people.
Case will arise in the monsoon session of Parliament
The voter list controversy in Bihar has now become the subject of national politics and it is likely that the issue will be raised vigorously in the monsoon session of Parliament starting on Monday.
